Amazing Grace Nursery is a loving, friendly, caring and nurturing setting, looking after children from Birth to 5 years in our Early Years Section, followed by 5-11 years in our Out Of School Club provision. We have an extremely high level of knowledge and understanding for the important of a child’s Early Education which is central to the care we provide. This is further underpinned through our passion and commitment to each of our children’s needs ensuring that their interests blossom throughout their time with us.
We ensure that all our Staff have a genuine passion for childcare which makes our setting even more inviting and friendly. This is especially important to us, ensuing that we always maintain an extremely high quality of care. We work hard to establish good bonds with our parents as we believe that working together is paramount to providing the best care and outcomes for our children.
Our setting is a bright, inviting and purposeful environment to support every child on their learning journey with us. We hold a wide range of Learning & Play Areas within our three rooms, from Baby Room, to Toddler Room to our Pre-School Room. We adapt our rooms to ensure they are age appropriate, each with equipment that is regularly safety checked for durability.
We embed the EYFS in our practice in order to enhance, track and further each child’s development & learning. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the Government framework for education for children from birth to five, designed to grow and develop with your child to the end of the reception year at school. It places emphasis on learning through play, interaction and exploring the world, therefore it crucially underpins the design of our setting.
We also look closely at the Characteristics or Effective Learning which is studying and noticing how each individual child learns and becoming knowledgeable on how they learn best- this can then be used to implement how they can achieve new learning goals, challenges and development criteria with each child.
There are 3 characteristics of effective learning according to the EYFS 2017:
Playing and exploring – engagement
* Finding out and exploring
* Playing with what they know
* Being willing to have a go
Active learning – motivation
* Being involved and concentrating
* Keeping trying
* Enjoying achieving what they set out to do
Creating and thinking critically – thinking
* Having their own ideas
* Making links
* Choosing to do things
We respond to Special Educational Needs and works in conjunction with the SEND Code of Practice. Our Nursery supports SEND and liaises with appropriate external agencies to ensure all children’s needs are met effectively.
ParticipateThrough the range of purposeful play and challenging activities, our children are introduced to the full array of the EYFS areas, to develop appropriate skills through learning & play. Each child is encouraged to reach their highest potential, whilst developing the ability to become independent as well as play with others and make solid friendships with each other & good bonds with our staff.
Our thorough tracking and planning systems support each child through their interests, these are then used to plan and encourage achievement of independent goals within the EYFS. These are carefully thought out by staff and adapted to each individual, using their interests to enhance their willingness, enthusiasm and ability to learn and grow.
